after a few routine questions like name, D.O.B. etc, the recruiter gets to the obligatory juicy questions about my life style.
recruiter: Have you ever experimented with marijuana?
me: yes I have
recruiter: could you approximate how many times you have used marijuana?
me: (laughs) No I don't think I could approximate
recruiter: have you experimented with any other drug besides marijuana?
me: (reluctantly) psilocybin?
recruiter: whats that?
me: mushrooms?
recruiter: have you ever been diagnosed with athsma?
me: yes actually I have athsma and am taking medication (inhaler) for it, but I am very active, I ride my bike.
recruiter: okay, well unfortunately you can't be in the navy having diagnosed with athsma, we wouldn't want you to be working out and have an athsma attack and die now would we?
THATS the game changer?! Up until that point, I had admitted to several experimentations with drugs, the fact that I have ATHSMA disqualifies me from ever joining any armed forces.
